The provincial government is currently conducting a library review, which is looking at library service delivery, legislation and funding.

But the consultations only included appointed regional library boards, with no public participation.

We need your help to make sure that any decisions about the future of our libraries have a clear and transparent format for public participation.

Library patrons and volunteers have proven they are knowledgeable and passionate about the public library, naturally they should be included in any process.

Dear Minister Wyant, I am writing today to express my concern about the library review the provincial government is currently undertaking. The current review has no clear avenues for public participation, and little information about the scope and timelines associated with the project I urge the government to undertake a more transparent public consultation on the future of libraries in the province of Saskatchewan.The public was promised that they would be intregral to the review. Library patrons deserve a say in all decisions about library funding and service delivery. In addition, I would like to add my voice to the ongoing call for adequate funding for library services in the province. This means annual funding increases that match inflation. Furthermore, I would like to state my support for maintaining and improving library services across the province, including the One card system, inter-library loans and a strong rural library network. In conclusion, there are over 275,000 library patrons and volunteers in saskatchewan. They were given assurances that any library review would be transparent and public. If you have nothing to hide, why has there been no involvement or information given to the public. Sincerely,
